Craigslist

I put my first ad up on Craigslist.com. There is an enormous amount of people on that site looking for things. How are you supposed to make sure that they stop and check you out?
I know that I hate reading a lot in what are supposed to be short descriptions. I move past those. I visit the ones that have links to pages or photos up. I skip those with poor grammar or spelling- If they cannot spell it, I do not trust them enough to be in charge of it.
What are your thoughts on how to make someone want to visit your ad? Do any of you use Craigslist? What is it you look for?

Hi Sarah, that great Mom of yours sent me over! Your photography is just beautiful. You're very talented!

I don't have any luck with craigslist. Usually I'm too late when I call and a few times I've sold on it the people were no shows. But it seems to work for alot of people.

How about that...Sarah with her own blog! Good luck with your new website, too, dear. Your Mom is a real gem...I'm not a blogger, and can't remember exactly how I "met" your Mom, but any daughter of hers is a friend of mine. (Reminds me, I owe her an email!) Just stopping by to say Hi, and again, best of luck!!!
To keep on topic, my brother in northern California has had great success with Craigslist, both buying and selling, mostly boats and cars.
